Agnes’ Birthday is Coming

image

Agnes’ would have been one year old on Tuesday if she hadn’t passed away in January. So it is a really difficult time for me knowing we week have to celebrate her birthday without her. We are going to have a small party though because we want to keep her memory alive in our family. Especially for Stephen who is young enough to forget.

Today we went to a memorial for deceased children In Stow, OH. Members of my father in law’s church choir bought us a brick there with Agnes’ name on it. It was very kind of them.

We miss you Baby. Happy birthday.

  1. I miss the little tyke. It hardly seems fair that I can have 74 birthdays in June, and Agnes didn’t get even one.

  2. Watch , Oh Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight, and give your angels and ( little) saints charge over those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, rest your weary ones, soothe your suffering ones, and all for your love’s sake. Amen………………St. Augustine
A year ago Tuesday must seem like only yesterday and also an eternity due to the depth of the struggle you all faced together. I think of all the people involved in loving her, praying for her, caring for her and it is astounding that, in less than 1 year, she was able to move so many, to reveal hidden inner strengths in those closest to her, to open hearts, and test faiths, inspire prayer. I think for you parents and grandparents , there is a pain I can’t know as a distant friend. To me, she is like one of those miraculous things in nature, like a shooting star, that only few will witness. I was just fortunate enough to be part of the circle when she blazed her little trail.
